High emotional intelligence (EQ) shows up among other things in the way of communication. Action and reaction is more constructive and mature.
I recommend reading the EQ introductory blog in advance. Here is the link: EQ_1
Let's be clear: EQ can be increased into old age, IQ cannot. While IQ may help solve math puzzles better, EQ helps us to understand teachers, parents, and oneself better. In addition, it is the motivator to prepare better for the next exam !!
….
We probably have too little idea of what is meant by EQ. IQ used to count, today it's more and more about EQ. Especially with people who want to live independently and happily.
In addition to the IQ and the EQ, we have the components of personality, e.g. temperament. They have overlaps, because the four temperaments (LINK) also have to do with feeling management.
In reality, the IQ circle is probably the smallest of all; the EQ the biggest. It shapes the most our personality, our character and our temperament .
. Some still speak of
Creativity-intelligence (wealth of ideas, imagination)
Emergency solution intelligence (turn defeat into victory)
Spiritual Intelligence (living reasonable balanced belief)
Anyway. As I understand it, these components have a lot of overlap with EQ.
Let's take a look at the everyday areas in which we deal with EQ. In doing so, pay particular attention to the moments that are addressed in your life:
It has been found that people with high EQ earn more on average. In our latitudes that should amount to around € 30-60,000 per year. The attitude towards money is also addressed with the EQ. Anyone who knows the values of a happy family will not be lured into the money trap. Hopefully !
The mechanism to control such thoughts like 'being rich - wanting more - owning more than the neighbor', EQ is responsible for , respectively the frontal lobe. (LINK)
Amygdala stands for fear center. The hippocampus is the switching point in the limbic system, which is used to process emotions and the development of our instinctual behavior and where the endorphins (happiness hormones) are released.
The frontal lobe is generally regarded as the seat of personality and social behavior. It is also sometimes called the "organ of civilization". This is where morality, conscience, decision-making power and will are stored or developed there. This part is strongly interrelated with the limbic system.
You can see from this that the feelings tend to be formed, stored and changed in the limbic system. All human descriptions are a great simplification of these complex processes. What kind of feelings are we talking about here?
What gives me something to think about here is that we have ONE happy column and FOUR fear-related columns. Do you have an idea for a second happiness column? Let me know it.
Let's put these feelings in a more practical context. Which specific skills are we talking about?
What kind of knowledge is associated with emotional intelligence?
After the attempt to define EQ and make it understandable, the areas of social life will be discussed. How to achieve improvements in these areas will be addressed in the next blogs.
MARRIAGE u FAMILY (mutual understanding based on self-image)
PROFESSION (dealing with colleagues, subordinates, with the boss, motivation)
HEALTH (healthy lifestyle promotes frontal lobe development)
ENVIRONMENT (privacy, public and society can see added value)
SPIRITUALITY (understanding and dealing with belief in a postmodern context)
The most important components are now listed. Maybe there will be more.
